KANDU INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES NEW FAMILY FUN EVENT “CHEERS WITH THE STEERS”

Sep 6, 2023 | News

Janesville, Wis. (September 6, 2023) – KANDU Industries Inc., a Rock County, Wis.-based non-profit organization that provides programs and services to people with disabilities and disadvantages today announced its newest fundraising event “Cheers with the Steers.” The fall farm-themed fundraiser will take place on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 12-4 p.m. at Dyer Farms on Highway 11 in Janesville.

The family-friendly event promises fun for all ages, with all proceeds supporting KANDU’s mission to provide opportunities and services for adults with disabilities and memory care issues in Rock County.   Event attendees will get a first look at the renovations in progress at Dyer Farms as the Dyer family transforms a once fully operational farm into a venue where guests can escape to the serenity of county life or host an intimate gathering.

“At KANDU, we challenge each other to find ways to create unique experiences for our sponsors and guests,” said KANDU’s Executive Director Kathy Hansen.  “Two years ago, we changed the location of our annual Grapes & Hops wine and beer tasting fundraiser to an airplane hangar and continue to receive great reviews because of the unique experience it creates.  We think our guests will enjoy the opportunity to spend an afternoon experiencing the charm of Wisconsin farm life in the fall but also to see the unique venue the Dyers are creating right here in Janesville.”

70s and 80s rock band Nauti-Nauti will perform while guests enjoy a robust harvest buffet by KANDU Catering.  Sponsors Gray Brewing Company and Timber Hill Winery will serve locally brewed beer and locally crafted wine throughout the afternoon. Yard games like “Cow Pie Bingo” and hayrides around the farm will create long-lasting memories for the whole family.

Guests will also be entertained by cheering on their favorite teams as event sponsors compete in “Barnyard Olympics,” a unique team-building competition including sack races, corn shucking, an egg toss and a pie-eating contest.

Sponsors will enjoy the camaraderie formed while participating in the team-building event and the many promotional benefits of supporting a community-based fundraising event.  Interested sponsors can contact KANDU’s Fund Development Director Linda Ross at lross@kanduindustries.com

Cheers with the Steers is made possible by presenting sponsor DSB Technologies and major sponsors Johnson Financial, Jones Dairy Farm and Trigger.  Funds raised from the event will empower KANDU to continue delivering vital work, social, and daily programs to individuals with disabilities in Rock County.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the event page of KANDU’s website at kanduindustries.com.
